South Bay Meet & Make Recap: String Art with Kathryn of Splendid Colors

On Friday, we had a great time at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles making string art under the capable instruction of Kathryn of Splendid Colors!
From left to right: yours truly, Jen from Mama's Magic Studio, having some crafty fun with Christine, the museum director, Liz of Ionyka, and workshop leader Kathryn of Splendid Colors
It was nice to have some time to work on some samples before the workshop participants arrived, and it was a special treat to be joined by Christine, the museum director. I was particularly impressed with the sample that Kathryn worked up.
Isn't that metallic thread gorgeous?
Kathryn had made custom laser-cut designs for the workshop, giving participants a variety of neat designs. The craft project was a great match for the new high-tech quilt exhibit, ITAB. Here's Kathryn working on her sample.
Kathryn, the expert!
It was a fun evening as usual! Many thanks to fellow SF Etsy member Liz of Ionyka who came out to volunteer and help support the workshop.

SF Etsy had taken a bit of a break from coordinating these for the summer, but we're looking forward to September and beyond. Next up is the September 5th workshop -- making plushies with LED lights, taught by SF Etsy friend Go Go Craft!
