Craft Swap and How it Works

Hello fellow crafters! Are you ready to clear out your crafting spaces and closets and get your hands on some new treasures?

THIS SATURDAY at Ruth's Table in the Mission, the SF Etsy team will be hosting a craft supply swap from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

We've received a few questions about how it will work, so here's the scoop!

Scenario 1 - You bring, you take

You have cleaned out your craft space and bring to Ruth's Table your "like new" or "gently used" crafting supply items. A volunteer from the team will happily take your donation and distribute it on the swap tables. You then can feel free to "shop" among all the other craft items and take things you know you will use.

Scenario 2 - You don't bring, you take

Perhaps you don't have anything in your craft space you can live without or you are looking to start a new craft. Come out to the swap and select from the treasures your fellow crafters bring along!

Scenario 3 - You bring, but you don't take

And for those of us who have amazing self control, feel free to bring your items to the swap, but you don't necessarily have to take something in return. It's like heading to your local charity, but more fun because we will have snacks and socializing :)

Lastly, we will have a $5 craft table, so feel free to bring out any of those items you've made, but perhaps won't work for your current business. Make sure you label everything so we know who to pay once the event is over. We will be keeping a careful ledger so you don't have to worry about managing that yourself :)

We are so excited about this event! Come out, bring a friend. Share the event on Facebook - here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/events/368425406593216/

There will be a $5 entrance fee to cover the cost of event as well as donate to Ruth's Table our local creative non-profit, committed to carrying on Ruth Asawa's creative spirit in our community.

As well, any craft items that are leftover will find a happy home at Scrap

We hope to see you there!
