Help me celebrate 40... And help disabled artists!

Creative Growth Art Center Benefit
Sat May 29 7-10pm
Rhythmix Cultural Works, Alameda

I turned 40 on May 21st. My friends had been talking about having a huge party. I figured, if we were gathering that many people, we would do something good! So, I decided to host a benefit... and invite the world!

Most of my friends are artists and craftsmen and have been fans of the Creative Growth Art Center in Oakalnd for many years. It's an art center for disabled adults. For over 35 years they have provided programs in woodworking, painting, drawing, sculpture, multi-media, fabric arts, etc. and have represented the artists with their art careers.

The entire event has been a collaborative effort. Over 50 artists from across the US have donated paintings, drawings, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, music, independent film tickets, soaps and scents, and various other forms of arts and crafts for the Art Sale at the benefit. The sale will also include 22 pieces from Creative Growth artists and even one of their teachers!

A couple etsians have donated as well:

Benefit includes:

  • Art Sale- over 110 pieces of fixed price art

  • Raffles- $10 per ticket. Prizes include gift certificates to the St. Francis Hotel, Andiron, Salsa with Juan, and Bead Inspirations.

  • Dessert Fest- Bring a dessert to share and receive an additional raffle ticket!

If you are in town his holiday weekend, please stop by and help support a fabulous facility. I would love it if you could spread the word as well.
