Upcoming Craft Events: Lightbox and Craft Bar

Two great upcoming events to let you know about this morning!

This Thursday, June 3rd, MOCFA will be hosting another one of their fabulous Etsy Labs Craft Bar parties.

"This summer is heating up with CRAFT BAR and ETSY LABS @ MOCFA SF as we celebrate the warm weather with an outdoor craft garden blooming with creative projects!

Thursday June 3rd from 6-8pm, join us as we partner with textile haven Britex Fabrics to make crochet and fabric appliquéd jewelry, or, if flowers aren't your thing, Asian pop-culture emporium Giant Robot will also be launching their pop-up store inside the MOCFA; celebrate with a GR-themed craft! For those who prefer a less-structured craft experience, we also offer a free-form Stitch and Bitch area where you can start a new project, or work on an existing one.

Not feeling crafty? June's CRAFT BAR will also feature live music and delicious refreshments from local brewery Trumer Pils. Take inspiration from the gallery and the store while you explore the creative process, socialize, And enjoy refreshments.

Fee is $5 which includes admission to the gallery, and supplies for the craft. Resident crafter Amelia Strader will be doing the Etsy Virtual Lab at 1 PM on June 3rd—be sure to check it out if you can't make it to CRAFT BAR!"

And Saturday June 12th is shaping up to be an amazingly crafty day in San Francisco! You've heard about the SF Etsy Sampler Trunk Show, of course -- our first team trunk show that is taking place at the Artist XChange gallery from 1pm to 6pm. But did you know that there's another great craft event that same day, right in the Mission?
Lightbox SF is hosting a Crafty Hour at the Makeout Room from noon to 5 pm! They say, "We're expecting it to be our most successful event yet. Here's a list of the artists we have lined up: Smells and Bells Organics, Em's Studio, Shana Astrachan, Nunofelt, Red Collar Designs, Bubbles and Boo, Warefoto, Maggie Hurley, Dan Brazelton, Elizabet Wendt, Alana Douvros"

Be sure to give Lightbox SF some SF Etsy love, because the organizers were kind enough to offer to do some cross-promotion for the SF Etsy Sampler! We figure that having two great craft events in the Mission, and letting folks know about both, will give our customers double the reason to come to do some shopping and support handmade in San Francisco. Hope to see you there!

So many cool events. Thank you for a great and informative post. I may check out Britex on Thursday just to visit fabric heaven.

I'd love to hear how it goes if you make it to the Museum for the craft bar! I was really hoping to make this one, but my babysitting arrangements didn't work out this month, alas. Fingers crossed for July.
