Guest Blog Post with Teammate doubleparlour

Ernie and Cassandra of doubleparlour spent the weekend of March 16th - 18th at WonderCon 2012 in Anaheim, CA. This is their adventure.

Thursday:

Left San Francisco at 4am for the 7 hour drive south towards Los Angeles. The car is packed with sculptures and fair supplies. After light rain and minimal traffic, we arrive at the Anaheim Convention Center. This is our second WonderCon event as a vendor, and since it was a good experience for us last year.....we thought it was worth the travel expenses to participate again, this time down in Los Angeles.

Friday:

On our first day of the convention, our booth is in the Artist's Alley section. We find our selves surrounded by some cool neighbors....including Frankenfactory and Unpossible Cuts. Great to see some of our fair friends here also.....Sawdust Bear, ColorInk Book, Cody Vrosh and Emonic Art.

Saturday:

Arrive at the Convention Center early....lots of activity here.....there is also a volleyball and cheerleading contest in the other halls. The fair is packed by mid-morning....high energy and lots of costumes....very entertaining for people watching. After an action packed day, we head to an art opening at WWA Gallery....group show, great artwork!

Sunday:

Third day of fair....we have met some great people, both attendees and fellow vendors. Sales are pretty good overall, we have sold mostly sculptures (we also brought prints and t-shirts). We sold a few of the pieces we brought to WonderCon on-line....we had posted some teaser photos of the new pieces we made for WonderCon on Facebook and Twitter. It is WonderCon, so of course the crowd is sci-fi oriented.....definitely more exhibitors at this con. Some vendors have traveled from out of state quite a distance to participate in WonderCon. Some of the vendors we spoke to were just as interested in the experience of meeting people and enjoying the convention as they were in trying to sell their art. We are tired, but having an awesome time. Convention ends at 5pm and we pack up. Then dinner at Mo Ran Gak...best Korean food I think I have ever had....then back to SF tomorrow morning....home, sweet home.

Cool to see this guest post about a new-to-me convention. Double Parlor was one of my very first Etsy crushes!
