FAQ For the South Bay Craft Party and Supply Swap at SJMQT

We are really getting excited about our upcoming South Bay Craft Party and Craft Supply Swap at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles!

We've had some questions come up, so we thought a FAQ might be helpful!

Is there a charge to participate?
No! Donations to the museum are always welcome, as a thank you for hosting, but the Craft Party and Supply Swap is free.

How does the Craft Supply Swap work?
The swap looks like this: we ask participants to bring any craft supplies that they might be willing to donate to the swap. Materials do not need to be new but they should be usable. Swappers will place their donated materials in the appropriate spot(s) in the swap (we'll have signs out to help you organize) and then everybody will be invited to browse through the swap and take those materials that they can use. We ask that folks not be greedy, but the most important thing is to get materials where they can be used! Any leftover craft materials at the end of the swap will be donated to appropriate organizations such as FabMo, RAFT, SCRAP, etc.

Can I sell my craft supplies? Can I sell my handmade crafts?
No. There will be no sales at this event.

Do I have to bring craft supplies to participate in the swap?
No, but it's recommended. We will give the first browsing opportunities to those who have brought materials to donate.

Will we be making any crafts?
Yes! Etsy has put together a fun paper weaving craft that we will have available. If desired, you can bring your own photo or paper materials (8x10 is suggested) but we will also have materials on hand for you to use.

Can I bring my kids?
This is a family-friendly event.  Please note that very small children will probably not be that interested in the swap or the paper craft. For safety reasons all children must be supervised by an accompanying adult.

Do I need to RSVP?
Please do! You can RSVP through our Facebook event page or the Etsy calendar

Let us know if there any other questions! Hope to see you at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles on June 6th from 2 pm to 4 pm!
