The Local List: Upcoming Craft Events

Hello All! Here area a few local craft fairs that are happening in the next couple of months. Check the event websites to receive further information. Also, the holiday fair dates are starting to roll in too. I will be starting to announce those next week.

Name of Event: Urban Stitch
Date: Sunday, July 25th, Noon-5pm
Location: 25 Maiden Lane, near Union Square/Otis Lounge, SF
Cost of Event: 4"x8"-$140 OR 4"x15"-$180 Cost does not include tables/chairs,etc

We are closing down Maiden Lane in downtown Union Square. There is a $10-$20 admission fee for people who wish to attend this event. More info can be found on the web page about applying at the FAQ page: and

Name of Event: Mission Creek Music & Arts Festival
Date: Saturday, July 17th Time: ???
Location: McLaren Park, Diamond Heights District, SF
Cost of Event: $75 for a 3"x6" space (includes same size table)

Additional Info: Mission Creek will be presenting an admission-free concert event in John McLaren Park on July 17. Last year the event drew over 1,200 attendees, and through increased promotional efforts even more are projected to attend. The festival draws a wide audience of creative professionals, music lovers and families, which make it an ideal venue for art, design and craft booths.

Date: 11am-5pm, Saturday August 14th
Location: All along MacArthur Blvd between 35th & 38th Ave., Oakland
Cost of Event: Early Bird Special (before June 30th) $125
Regular Fee( received between 6/30-7/14) $150.00
Late Fee(After 7/14): $175.00 for a 10"x10" Booth Space

i'm all for those $10 booth fees where you bring your own table. even if we have to pass out flyers or email 15 newspapers and zines ourselves, i'd really like to see more of those type of events so the artists can have a lot more money in their pockets.
